UAE President Praises Relations with Kuwait

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praised the relationship between his country and Kuwait, describing it as "brotherly, historic, and deeply rooted." The Emirati president met today with the Emir of Kuwait, who is visiting Abu Dhabi for the first time since assuming his position.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed affirmed that "the relations between the UAE and Kuwait are brotherly and historic, based on solid foundations of understanding and respect at both official and popular levels." He added: "I was pleased today to meet my brother Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Abu Dhabi; we have brotherly historical relations with our sister Kuwait."

He expressed the eagerness to work together to strengthen and develop these relations, support joint Gulf cooperation, and enhance the foundations of stability and prosperity in the region for the benefit of all its peoples.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed awarded the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the "Zayed Medal" in recognition of the strong brotherly relations that unite the two countries and Sheikh Mishal's efforts to enhance them.
