Canada Plans to Provide 40 Million Canadian Dollars for Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Canada announced today, Tuesday, new funding of 40 million Canadian dollars (29.8 million US dollars) to provide food, water, and other humanitarian assistance to Gaza. The Canadian Global Affairs Ministry stated in a press release that the funds will be allocated to international agencies, including the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. This announcement comes days after Canada and several other countries decided to suspend funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) following allegations from Israel that some of its staff participated in Hamas attacks on October 7.
