Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated today, Monday, that "third forces" are behind the protests in Serbia, emphasizing that "the Serbian leadership will ensure the rule of law in the country." Peskov stated, "There are operations and attempts by third forces, including from abroad, to incite disturbances throughout Serbia similar to what was seen in the capital, Belgrade, last night, and this is what we are observing. We have no doubt that the leadership of Serbia will guarantee the rule of law in the country." He stressed that "Serbia has legislation and electoral bodies," noting that "observers did not record any violations that could cast doubt on the legitimacy of the elections." He continued, "Everything that is happening is an internal matter for Serbia, which has a legitimate leadership capable of taking all necessary measures. We have never intervened and will not intervene in the internal affairs of any party, especially in the internal affairs of Serbia, our ally and partner."
