Arab Universities Union Approves the Establishment of the Arab Higher Education Area

The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced today, Wednesday, that the Arab Universities Union voted to support the initiative to establish the Arab Higher Education Area during its closing session held at the University of Baghdad. A statement from the ministry indicated that "members of the Arab Universities Union voted in favor of the initiative presented by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi." The Secretary-General of the Arab Universities Union, Amr Ezzat Salama, clarified that "the general conference of the Arab Universities Union welcomes and appreciates the initiative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Republic of Iraq regarding the creation of a unified Arab higher education area," reaffirming "the conference's commitment to work on implementing this distinguished initiative." At the conclusion of the conference activities, participation and membership certificates were presented to the Arab universities that joined the union, which totaled thirty universities.
