Title: Israeli Military Dog Records Details of Hostage Deaths in Gaza

A video recorded by a camera mounted on a dog from an Israeli military canine unit revealed new details regarding the death of three hostages in Gaza due to Israeli fire. According to the "Times of Israel," the military investigation into the accidental deaths of the three hostages is still ongoing, and it has included footage from the cameras attached to the military dogs that witnessed the incident.

The investigation states that on December 10, reconnaissance members of the Golani Brigade encountered a group of Hamas fighters who opened fire on them from a building, according to Sky News Arabia. During the firefight, one trained dog was sent to the building, which the army later identified as the hostage location. The dog was killed by Hamas militants, who were subsequently eliminated by Golani soldiers, allowing the three hostages, Alon Shamriz, Yotam Haim, and Samar Talalka, to escape captivity.

The camera on the dog recorded what appeared to be the voice of hostage Alon Shamriz yelling "help," indicating that there were other hostages present. The camera footage was only reviewed two days later, on December 18, after the dog's body was recovered.

"Times of Israel" clarified that Shamriz, Haim, and Talalka attempted to approach the troops but were shot at after being perceived as a threat by the soldiers. The escaping hostages left a sign in Hebrew that read "SOS" and "3 hostages." The Israeli military's initial investigation indicated that the responsible officer believed that the men's movement towards him was a potential Hamas trap and immediately opened fire, shouting that they were "terrorists."
