Launch of the 28th Muscat International Book Fair

The 28th Muscat International Book Fair in the Sultanate of Oman will kick off on February 21 and continue until March 2, featuring the participation of 847 publishing houses from 34 countries. The fair's director, Ahmed bin Saud Al-Rawahi, stated at a press conference on Wednesday that Egypt ranks first in terms of the number of participants, followed by Oman, Lebanon, and Syria. He added that the titles listed on the fair's website total 622,000, including approximately 268,000 Arabic books and 20,000 foreign books, with the Omani collection comprising 19,000 books.

This year's fair revolves around the theme of "Artificial Intelligence," with various activities and events discussing it in the children's pavilion and other sections. The Dhahirah Governorate will be this year's guest of honor, in line with the fair's tradition of highlighting one of Oman’s governorates to showcase its cultural heritage, history, and prominent creators.
