The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, continues his meetings in Britain on the sidelines of his participation in the General Assembly of the International Maritime Organization. He met with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, Kitack Lim, at the head of a delegation from the organization, along with a delegation from his ministry and in the presence of the Lebanese Ambassador to Britain, Rami Mortada. The discussions focused on the prospects for cooperation between Lebanon and the organization, as an active member.
Hamieh emphasized during the meeting that "Lebanon will remain keen on opening new horizons for cooperation with the organization, especially concerning maritime safety and environmental factors," noting that "adhering to the standards set by the organization is a constant commitment for us in Lebanon, as it further enhances the trust of the maritime community in us, especially in the ports and maritime transport sectors."
