Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian described the action by "Meta" to block the pages of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on "Instagram" and "Facebook" as not only a violation of freedom of expression but also an unethical and illegal act that insults millions of his supporters and followers. Abdollahian pointed out that "Meta's action is part of a broader campaign by American social media networks to censor the voices of supporters of Palestine." He added, "Ayatollah Khamenei is the foremost supporter of the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza in the world, and the Silicon Valley empire cannot prevent this voice from reaching the global public opinion."
