The Qatar national team continued its defense of the AFC Asian Cup title against its Palestinian counterpart, winning 2-1 in the "Arab Derby" held today, Monday, in the Round of 16 of the tournament. Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh put the "Fida’i" team ahead with a goal scored in the 37th minute of the first half.
Qatar quickly responded with two consecutive goals from players Hassan Al-Haydous and Akram Afif in the 45th minute and the 49th minute (penalty kick), respectively, during the match held at the "Al-Bayt" Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.
The Qatar national team is set to face the winner of the match between Uzbekistan and Thailand in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup, which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
