Ismail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, affirmed in a message to the General Commander of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif, that "the enemy and those behind it will not be allowed to isolate Gaza and its people." He emphasized a "covenant, a pledge, and a brotherly commitment," according to Russia Today. He added: "The resistance has practically proven that the occupying entity is weaker than a spider's web; you have penned an epic titled the 'Flood of Al-Aqsa,' written by the hands of the Mujahideen in the Qassam Brigades and the resistance fighters in Gaza."
He continued: "You have clearly demonstrated the weakness and fragility of the occupying Zionist entity, and you have practically proven how frail it is, weaker than a spider's web. It is enough what the enemy has said in describing this great event, that the region after the Flood of Al-Aqsa will not be like it was before." He concluded his message to Deif by stating: "The strikes delivered by the resistance have proven that it is capable of initiative and innovation."
Earlier in the evening, an Iranian official denied what was reported by media outlets regarding a meeting between Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau. He confirmed that "there was no discussion in the meeting about the war's prevention due to lack of prior knowledge or about continuing support without direct intervention from Iran. There was also no mention in the meeting about requests to silence Palestinian voices demanding that Iran and Hezbollah enter the war." This official considered that "the aim of these lies is to create discord among the resistance front that firmly stands against the aggression and attempts to undermine and destabilize the solid wall of the resistance front."
