Mohammed bin Rashid Issues Law Regarding the Emblem of Dubai

The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued a law stating that Dubai shall have its own emblem. According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), bin Rashid has enacted a law regarding the emblem of the Emirate of Dubai, which stipulates that the emirate should have a unique emblem reflecting its civilization, values, and principles. The law determines the form of the emblem based on the attached model, declaring the emblem as the property of the Emirate of Dubai and protected under this law and the applicable legislation.

The emblem, as stated in the law, will be used in "buildings, sites, events, activities, documents, official records, electronic sites, and digital applications belonging to the government and governmental entities." It may only be used by non-governmental entities with special permission from the Ruler of Dubai or his authorized delegate, and such usage must comply with the purposes and conditions specified in this permission.

The law prohibits any individual from using the emblem, except those from governmental entities and others authorized to use it in any form or manner without obtaining prior permission as specified in this law. Furthermore, it forbids anyone from violating the emblem in any form, distorting it, affecting its value or status, or using it in activities or events that contradict the values and principles of the Emirate of Dubai, or that conflict with public order and morals.
