Title: Jumblatt's Call for Unity and Warning Against War

The former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, called for solidarity and a unified stance during these difficult times, emphasizing the need to avoid being drawn into war. He warned that the coming days would be extremely challenging. During a tour with Democratic Gathering leader MP Taymour Jumblatt and Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Gandhi Makarem in the towns of Chouit, Baalchmiyah, and Abadiyah, Jumblatt praised the resilience of the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are facing Israeli destruction and violence, expressing fears of an ongoing and expanding conflict in the region.

He stated, "Today's situation may be much worse than what we experienced during the siege of Beirut and its invasion, so we call for solidarity and a united voice and message. Today, unlike in the past, we have no power to change the decisions of countries; they have their own calculations, and we see how an entire people is being sacrificed despite massive demonstrations, especially in the West. However, the decision seems to be to continue the siege of Gaza and destroy it, and God knows what the fate of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank will be."

Jumblatt expressed a hope that they would not be drawn into war, noting that "if the worst occurs, there is no power or strength, yet we should not be drawn in; the matter lies with the resistance team and Israel, and when we see such a vast number of fleets, one must consider that something is coming."

He stressed that "internally, it would have been better if there was a minimum of national unity, and a president was elected, regardless of who that may be." He mentioned that "today, there is disagreement over appointing a commander of the army, and our army is resilient, large, and necessary, but I do not understand the disagreements over a presidency that may come or may not come."
