Trade company Trafigura and the U.S. military reported that "fire broke out on the tanker Marlin Luanda, but there have been no reports of casualties or injuries after the ship was hit by an anti-ship missile fired by the Houthis in the Gulf of Aden on Friday." Trafigura indicated in a statement that it "is using firefighting equipment on board the tanker to extinguish and control the fire that erupted in a cargo tank on the right side," adding that it is in contact with a petroleum products tanker. The U.S. military earlier pointed out that "a U.S. Navy ship and other vessels are providing assistance after the tanker Marlin Luanda was hit by an anti-ship missile fired by the Houthis." The Central Command reported that after about eight hours, the U.S. military destroyed a Houthi anti-ship missile aimed at the Red Sea and ready for launch. They added that the missile "posed an imminent threat to commercial vessels and U.S. Navy ships in the area."
