A major uproar occurred in Iraq following reports of a voice heard from inside a grave in the town of Faida near the city of Duhok in northern Iraq. The daughter of a 60-year-old Syrian refugee, who died after suffering two strokes and was buried 40 days ago, claimed she heard a voice coming from the grave.
The news of a sound resembling someone knocking, as if trying to escape from one of the graves, spread among the locals, leading crowds to gather along with security personnel, who are currently awaiting judicial approvals to open the grave. The police also took action and contacted the judiciary to obtain permission to excavate the site, but the request was firmly rejected, and they stated that the grave would not be opened.
