On the second day of Foreign Minister and Emigrants Abdullah Bouhabib's meetings on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, he met with Cardinal Richard Paul Gallagher, the Vatican Foreign Minister. They discussed how to end the presidential vacancy in Lebanon and the need to find a sustainable solution to the Syrian displacement crisis. Bouhabib also participated in the opening session of the UN General Assembly as part of the delegation headed by the Prime Minister. He met with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahagn Vardanyan, who briefed him on the recent military actions in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The minister expressed his regret over the resurgence of these actions and condemned the targeting of civilians and innocent bystanders. Additionally, he met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, who informed him about the projects being implemented by the organization in Lebanon. Minister Bouhabib requested support for the education sector in Lebanon amid the current challenging economic conditions.
