Oman welcomed the holding of a meeting of Palestinian factions in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Thursday and Friday, with the participation of all Palestinian national powers and factions. The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement the importance of "building on the momentum of the positive outcomes of the meeting, leading to the formation of a Palestinian national unity government that ensures comprehensive representation of all Palestinian components and factions, in line with the aspirations of the Palestinian people during this critical and decisive historical phase."
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed "Russia's readiness to continue contributing to efforts to enhance a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, hoping that the talks among Palestinian factions in Moscow will result in Palestinian reconciliation." Russia hosted a round of dialogue among Palestinian factions in a renewed effort to achieve progress in the reconciliation file, which has been stalled for 17 years.
