Wall Street Opens Lower Amid Rising Treasury Yields

Wall Street started its session lower today, Monday, after Treasury yields rose following strong opposition from Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, to market speculation regarding an imminent rate cut. Meanwhile, investors are evaluating U.S. corporate earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 107.65 points, or 0.28 percent, at the opening to 38,546.77 points. The S&P 500 dropped by 1.42 points, or 0.03 percent, at 4,957.19 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index opened down by 14.96 points, or 0.10 percent, to 15,613.99 points.
