Syria: Officer Killed in Armed Attack

An officer was killed and four military personnel were injured in an armed attack carried out by unknown assailants in the Daraa province of southern Syria. The Syrian Interior Ministry stated: "Lieutenant Sharaf the hero Muntajeb Mohsen Baribdani was martyred, and four other members of the police force in the Azra region of Daraa were injured due to gunfire from unknown armed individuals on the Daraa highway while performing their national duty." The statement added that "his body was transferred and the injured were taken to the national hospital in Daraa."
