Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister, Anżelika Ślina, indicated on Saturday that "the authorities of the country have agreed to the deployment of German troops on its territory." In an interview with the "Rzeczpospolita" newspaper, she stated, "If the Germans want to strengthen the eastern flank of NATO in Poland, as they did in Lithuania, we agree and welcome them." The Polish diplomat emphasized that "in light of the ongoing combat operations 'behind the eastern borders' of Poland, Warsaw welcomes any assistance and cooperation from allies." The Deputy Minister noted that "around ten thousand American soldiers are currently stationed in Poland."
