The council of the city of “Bohorodchany” in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine announced the death of Maxim Hatsaniuk, described as the "best tank commander" in the Ukrainian armed forces, in the village of Sokolova in the Zaporizhzhia region. The city council issued a statement which read: "Citizen of the city Maxim Hatsaniuk, born on November 14, 1984, from the village of Hobchytsia, a resident of Kyiv, was killed on November 8, 2023, in the village of Sokolivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, following injuries sustained during combat missions." According to the city council, Hatsaniuk was mobilized in June 2022 and worked as a driver for a mechanized unit. Ukrainian media described him as "the best tank commander in the Ukrainian armed forces." He appeared multiple times on television, claiming that Kyiv was "on the verge of victory."
