Teachers' Union in Private Schools: Tomorrow is a Regular Teaching Day

The Teachers' Union in private schools announced that tomorrow will be a regular working day in private schools, based on the agreement reached at the Ministry of Education between the union, represented by Head Ni'meh Mahfoud and Secretary General Osama Arnaout, and the Federation of Private Educational Institutions, represented by the Secretary General of Catholic Schools Father Youssef Nasr and Haj Muhammad Samaha, with the presence of parents' committees. They are awaiting the official signing within 48 hours to take the appropriate position. The union confirmed that its primary concern is to achieve fairness for retired teachers and to ensure they receive salary increases equal to their colleagues in public education, through official mechanisms in the compensation fund. Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government Abbas Halabi announced after the educational meeting that "the atmosphere of the meeting was completely positive and everyone was cooperative, keen on the continuity of the academic year and the students of Lebanon, and there is a consensus on the necessity of fair treatment for teachers who have spent many years serving their schools."
