An American man who suffered from chronic headaches for months discovered that the cause was a parasite in his brain. After consulting with doctors, examinations revealed multiple cysts in his brain along with swelling, and experts confirmed that the cause was a tapeworm that had laid eggs in his brain. Doctors believe the parasite entered his body after he consumed undercooked food, subsequently migrating from the intestines to the brain via the bloodstream. Individuals can contract neurocysticercosis in various ways, including swallowing eggs through the consumption of improperly cooked or inadequately washed foods. The symptoms and severity of the condition depend on the number of cysts present in the brain, but confusion, balance issues, and excess fluid in the brain are some of the main signs of the condition.
