Egyptian actress Menna Arafa has sparked a stir on social media in Egypt after expressing her views on cohabitation. She stated in a television interview on a local channel: "I reject cohabitation and it is religiously forbidden, but it is socially beneficial because people can get to know each other very well through living together. Some people prefer to love each other for years, but after the first year of marriage, they divorce because they did not understand each other's temperaments." She added: "The best way to get to know someone is through traveling. When you travel with someone, you can learn about their character and ethics; there are things that a person must live with you to understand." She expressed her preference for a long engagement period, with the couple living together in a cohabitation arrangement but insisted that it should be done in a legitimate manner. This statement sparked a wave of criticism against the Egyptian actress, with some suggesting that she is seeking to trend in any way possible. Others pointed out that she is in a state of confusion due to the crises she has faced with her ex-husband. It is worth noting that Menna Arafa's life has seen numerous crises, stemming from her marriage and her multiple announcements of divorce, along with problems involving artist Mohamed Nagaty and subsequent issues with the syndicate of actors.
