The Iranian news agency denied that Tehran has conducted any negotiations with the United States regarding the Houthi attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea. The agency stated that "a well-informed source denied claims made by a U.S. newspaper regarding indirect negotiations that took place between Iranian and American delegations concerning the attacks in the Red Sea." A source for the agency pointed out that "the use of psychological influence and distorting facts to deceive public opinion is part of America's strategy to compensate for its failures in the diplomatic arena." He added: "The exchange of messages and indirect discussions between Iran and the United States is limited only to the framework of dialogue regarding lifting sanctions on Tehran."
