Bouhabib to the US Congressional Delegation: Funding UNRWA is in Lebanon's Interest

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, indicated that "funding UNRWA is in Lebanon's interest, as well as that of the host countries and the world, because it opens the door for Palestinian refugees to dream of a better future through its educational, health, and humanitarian services." He demanded, after meeting with Senator Richard Blumenthal and Senator Chris Coons in the US Senate, with the presence of US Ambassador Lisa Johnson, that "Israel give peace a chance instead of continuing its war policy, which gets passed down from generation to generation, increasing hatred and leading only to tragedies."
