Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah BouHabib, announced after a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Grand Serail that "discussions were held regarding the response to the French proposal, and we are preparing the message we agreed upon and the points we will address. Hopefully, the response will reach the French next week." He added: "Our position is known, and we want a full and comprehensive implementation of Resolution 1701, including Shebaa and Kfarshouba." He concluded: "We welcome the French role, and the French have given us these ideas because they care about Lebanon and Lebanon's safety."
