A statement from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division reads: "As part of the efforts to combat human smuggling from Syria into Lebanese territory, and as a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, a patrol from the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces, in the town of Kousha Al-Akkariyeh, managed to seize a Hyundai "scrap" van with a diesel engine, containing ten individuals of Syrian nationality (men, women, and children). The driver, identified as W.N., was also arrested for the crime of human smuggling. The arrested individuals and the vehicle were handed over to the relevant unit for legal procedures to be taken against them, in accordance with the directives of the competent judiciary."
