Kuwait's Crown Prince to New Parliament: Avoid Conflicts and Settling Scores

Kuwait's Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, called on the new National Assembly (parliament) today, Tuesday, to grant sufficient time to the government led by Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to achieve accomplishments. He urged the lawmakers, saying, "You must elevate the practice of democracy and give the government adequate time to achieve results before wisely and judiciously utilizing constitutional means." The Crown Prince emphasized that there is "no longer any room to waste time on settling scores and exporting crises," noting that "Kuwait is facing a new phase of work, reform, and advancing the national achievement." The fifth government of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah took the oath of office yesterday, Monday, before the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in his capacity as Deputy to the Emir and appointed by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to exercise some of the Emir's constitutional powers, including the appointment of the Prime Minister.
