Tunisia: Deaths and Injuries in Collapse of Part of the Old City Wall

The official spokesperson for the Civil Protection in Tunisia, Moaz Tareia, confirmed that the incident of the collapse of part of the wall of the old city in Kairouan (central Tunisia) at the Bab al-Jaldin level resulted in the death of 3 people and injuries to 2 others. Moaz Tareia stated in a comment to "Mosaïque" that this wall was under repair. He mentioned that ambulances and rescue trucks were dispatched to the scene, and the rescue teams of the Civil Protection are currently conducting search operations to ascertain whether there are other victims, especially since an eyewitness reported that two students were present at the site when the wall fell. The spokesperson also confirmed that the road adjacent to the wall had been closed to ensure the safety of passersby.
