Biden: No Military Operation in Rafah Without Securing Civilians

The White House announced today, Monday, that there will be no military operation in Rafah unless there is a plan to secure the safety of over one million civilians there. The statement added, "We have not yet seen any viable plans regarding the safety and security of more than one million civilians in Rafah." It continued, "We are seeking a temporary ceasefire in Gaza that provides the foundation for sustainable peace, alleviates suffering, and secures the release of hostages."
