Finnish driver Esapekka Lappi won the Sweden Rally today, achieving Hyundai's second victory in two consecutive rounds this season and his first personal win since 2017. The South Korean team won the opening Monte Carlo Rally with driver Thierry Neuville, who finished fourth today. Lappi and his co-driver Janne Ferm, who are competing in their first rally and participate partially in the season, finished 29.6 seconds ahead of Toyota driver Elfyn Evans, while Adrien Fourmaux from M-Sport Ford stepped onto the podium for the first time. Frenchman Fourmaux was in second place until he collided with a snow bank this morning. British driver Evans earned seven points for leading the standings today under the new points system. Two-time world champion Kalle Rovanperä, who is also competing partially this year, received five additional points as a bonus from the final stage.
