Today, the first plane arrived in the United Arab Emirates carrying 15 Palestinian children and their families as part of an initiative by President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to treat 1,000 Palestinian children along with their families from the Gaza Strip in hospitals in the UAE. The plane, arriving from Al Arish Airport in Egypt, landed at Abu Dhabi Airport, bringing children in dire need of medical assistance, including those with severe injuries, burns, and cancer patients requiring intensive treatment.
Maha Barakat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Health, confirmed that "the UAE has rushed to provide urgent humanitarian aid and supplies to Gaza since the onset of the crisis. In this regard, President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed the provision of $20 million in aid and the establishment of a fully equipped field hospital within the Gaza Strip as part of Operation 'Al-Faris Al-Shaham 3'." Barakat noted that "the UAE has sent 51 planes carrying 1,400 tons of food and health supplies and shelter materials in coordination with international organizations such as the World Food Programme."
