Title: Disruption of Two Illegal Migration Attempts on the Coasts of Tunisia

The marine units of the southern and central Tunisia maritime district managed to thwart two illegal sea border crossings in Jerjis in the Medenine governorate (southeast) and Mahdia (central-east). A total of 77 migrants of various nationalities were rescued, as reported by the General Administration of the National Guard on Saturday.

In detail, the floating units in the marine security area of Jerjis, part of the southern maritime district, disrupted an illegal maritime border crossing and rescued 24 migrants of different nationalities, in addition to recovering 5 bodies. The General Administration of the National Guard stated that they had departed from the shores of a neighboring country.

In Mahdia, the marine security units of the central maritime district succeeded in thwarting another illegal maritime crossing, rescuing 53 migrants of various nationalities. The General Administration of the National Guard indicated that, upon reviewing the public prosecutor's office, necessary legal procedures have been initiated regarding these individuals.
