Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a televised ceremony on Monday for raising the Russian flag on two nuclear-powered submarines, stating that they will begin patrolling the Pacific Ocean. Putin traveled to the city of Severodvinsk in the north to inaugurate the submarines Krasnoyarsk and Emperor Alexander III. He said, "Soon the submarines Alexander III and Krasnoyarsk will start monitoring the Pacific Ocean."
