Energy Information Administration: America Leads Global Oil Production

The Energy Information Administration stated in a release today, Monday, that "U.S. crude oil production has topped the world for the sixth consecutive year, with a record average of 12.9 million barrels per day." It added that U.S. crude oil production reached a new monthly record high in December of over 13.3 million barrels per day. The Energy Information Administration noted, "The United States has produced more crude oil than any other country at any time in the past six years, according to our international energy statistics." It pointed out that another country is expected to break this record soon.
