Europe Urges Israel to Improve Aid Access to Gaza

Sweden and several EU member states held a meeting with officials from the Israeli Foreign Ministry, emphasizing the "urgent need to improve humanitarian access to Gaza." Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson posted on the platform "X": "The life and health of children in Gaza must be protected. Sweden has initiated a meeting with Israel’s Foreign Ministry, several EU Member States, and other partners to convey the urgent need to improve humanitarian access to Gaza." Aid delivery in the sector has collapsed, with only a small amount of necessary food supplies entering and very little reaching the northern areas, where health ministry officials report that "children have started to die from hunger," while the United Nations warned that famine "is nearly inevitable." The health ministry in the sector announced that "at least 15 children have died from hunger and dehydration in one hospital."
