Finding the Body of the Suspect in the Shooting of 18 in Maine, USA

Police reported on Saturday that the suspect in the shooting in Maine, which resulted in 18 deaths last Wednesday, was found dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds after a 48-hour manhunt. Authorities discovered the body of the suspect, Robert R. Card (40 years old), in a trailer at a recycling facility in Lisbon Falls, where he had worked at some point in his life. The facility is less than two kilometers from where police found the vehicle he used to escape, which he discarded shortly after the incident.

The suspect had entered the Just In Time Recreation bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, and opened fire randomly, then proceeded to the Shmenugeez Bar and Grill a few kilometers away, where he repeated the act. Police stated that the attacks resulted in 18 fatalities and left 13 others injured, three of whom are in critical condition. Officials found a long gun in Card's abandoned vehicle and two firearms on his body. A representative from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives indicated that Card apparently purchased all the firearms legally.
