Billionaire Elon Musk declined to visit the Gaza Strip due to the dangerous situation there, following a call from Hamas for him to visit. Musk responded to a post by businessman Walter Bloomberg on X (formerly Twitter), which mentioned that Hamas invited Musk to see the extent of destruction in Gaza caused by Israeli bombardment. Musk commented on the post, stating, "The situation seems a bit dangerous there right now, but I'm confident that a prosperous Gaza in the long term would be good for all parties."
Earlier, Musk visited Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog. He visited Kibbutz Kfar Aza, which was attacked by Hamas on October 7, and agreed with Netanyahu's opinion that Israel has no choice but to eliminate Hamas. He expressed his desire to assist Israel in disarming and removing extremism from Gaza after the conflict. Musk's visit to Israel followed accusations of anti-Semitism after his controversial response to a post on X regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
