The National Intelligence Service in Iraq announced today, Friday, the dismantling of an international drug trafficking network in possession of over two million narcotic pills. A statement from the Security Media Cell mentioned that "based on accurate information and extensive intelligence follow-up both outside and inside Iraq, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service units were able to arrest several key drug traffickers linked to one of the international networks." The statement added, "After raiding their hideouts in the capital Baghdad, more than two million narcotic pills were seized that they were planning to distribute in several Iraqi provinces." It continued: "The arrested individuals and the confiscated items were referred to the relevant authorities."
