The Iraqi Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of approximately 2 kg of narcotic substances from a foreign traveler at the Safwan border crossing. The authority stated in a press release today, Sunday, that the "Safwan Border Directorate managed to apprehend a foreign traveler in possession of 1,940 grams of narcotic substances found in his luggage, which he attempted to smuggle into a neighboring country." It added that an official seizure report was prepared and the suspect, along with the seized items, was referred to the drug and psychotropic substances department in Safwan to face justice according to the law.
