On Monday, British banker and businessman from the Rothschild family, Lord Jacob Rothschild, passed away at the age of 88. He was the son of one of the most prominent Jewish families supportive of Israel. The Rothschild Foundation and Waddesdon Estates stated, "With deep sorrow, the Rothschild Foundation and Waddesdon Estates announce the death of Lord Rothschild, businessman and cultural leader. He will be greatly missed by his family, colleagues, and many friends." Jacob began his career at the family bank in 1963, later becoming one of the founders of an insurance group. In 2002, he was awarded the Order of Merit by the late Queen Elizabeth II. The Rothschild family is a dynasty of bankers in Europe and notable figures of Jewish origin who supported the establishment of "Israel" after the occupation of Palestine, with the family's history dating back to the late 18th century. Since the mid-19th century, the family has been considered one of the wealthiest and most influential in the world.
