Jordanian King and Egyptian President Discuss Developments in Gaza

Jordanian King Abdullah II conducted a phone call today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as part of efforts to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and to protect civilians. They emphasized the need to maintain close coordination between the two countries in light of the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, caused by a critical shortage of basic life necessities such as food, water, medicine, electricity, and fuel. The leaders highlighted the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure adequate delivery and sustainability of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to the region. They also reiterated their complete rejection of the escalation of military operations in Gaza and warned of its serious implications for the security and stability of the entire region. The two leaders affirmed the necessity of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution.
