The World Bank announced today, Friday, that it has approved two loans for Tunisia totaling $520 million to help the country address the challenge of food security and achieve balance in economic disparities between regions by improving road connectivity. The first loan, amounting to $300 million, complements the emergency food security response project, which will help mitigate the effects of four consecutive years of drought in the country, including the difficult grain season in 2023. The second loan, valued at $220 million, aims to reduce economic disparities between regions along the Kasserine-Sidi Bouzid-Sfax axis by developing the infrastructure of this corridor and improving access to financing for small and medium enterprises in the area.
