Today, the Pope of Vatican City urged both parties in the conflict in Sudan to end the war that has persisted for ten months, causing millions to be displaced and raising warnings of famine. Pope Francis stated, "I once again ask the warring parties to end this war, which is causing so much harm to the people and the future of the country." He added, "Let us pray for ways to find peace soon for beloved Sudan." In his weekly address today, Pope Francis also mentioned the conflicts in Mozambique, Ukraine, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. He said, "Wherever there is fighting, the inhabitants are exhausted; they are tired of the war, which is always useless and indecisive and will bring only death and destruction and will never lead to a solution to the problem."
