The Pakistani Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jawhar Ijaz, is visiting Cairo in the second week of January 2024, leading a delegation of government officials and prominent businessmen from Pakistan. The event program includes the Fourth Pakistan-African Trade Development Conference, which will take place on January 9, 2024, followed by a unified state exhibition lasting two days on January 10 and 11, 2024. More than 200 businessmen from over 20 commercial sectors in Pakistan, including textiles, engineering, food, agriculture, and services, will be heading to Cairo with the aim of showcasing Pakistani products and concluding potential business deals. Additionally, over 150 high-profile business figures and representatives from chambers of commerce from countries in the Middle East and North Africa will also visit Cairo to strengthen trade relations with Pakistani businessmen.
The exhibition presents opportunities to enhance trade and sign joint project agreements between local and Pakistani businessmen across various sectors of mutual interest, while also creating avenues to bolster trade and investment relations between Pakistan and countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The Pakistani government has successfully organized similar events under the "Look Africa" policy in Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi in 2022, 2021, and 2020, which have positively impacted achieving greater trade benefits. This year, the focus of the Pakistani government's efforts is on the Middle East and North Africa, with Cairo, Egypt, being the destination.
