The Kenyan police stated today, Tuesday, that "two people died in an aviation accident involving a training aircraft and a passenger plane in the capital, Nairobi." In comments to Reuters, the Nairobi regional police commander said, "I can confirm that a student and an instructor (on the training aircraft)... were killed in the incident," but he did not provide further details. The Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority mentioned in a statement that "the accident occurred at 07:05 GMT, between an aircraft belonging to a flight school and a passenger plane operated by Safari Link." The local airline Safari Link reported that "the passengers on board its flight to the coastal resort of Diani were unharmed."
