Thousands of Palestinians and Lebanese attended the funeral of Hamas leader Saleh Al-A’arouri and his companions who were killed in an attack on a Hamas office in the southern suburb two days ago. The bodies were prayed over this afternoon at Imam Ali Mosque in Tariq al-Jadida in Beirut, led by the representative of the Grand Mufti, Secretary General of the Fatwa Sheikh Amin Al-Kurdi, who delivered a speech on the occasion.
Crowds gathered outside the mosque, coming from various Palestinian camps in Lebanon, waving Palestinian flags and banners of Palestinian factions, especially Hamas and Islamic Jihad. After the prayer, ambulances from the Palestinian Red Crescent transported the coffins containing the bodies amid cries of anger and loudspeakers blasting revolutionary anthems, accompanied by heavy gunfire into the air that filled the skies of the area. The funeral procession headed towards the martyrs' cemetery in Shatila, where the bodies were laid to rest, while gunfire continued densely.
