The French Ministry of Agriculture announced on its website that "Paris has detected cases of bird flu in a duck farm in the Vendée region of western France." The regional governor's office stated that "the bird flu infections appeared among ducks that had been vaccinated against the virus causing the disease, making this the first occurrence of infection since France launched its vaccination campaign last year to combat the spread of the virus."
