Death of Yarborough, NASCAR Hall of Fame Member at 84

NASCAR announced today, Sunday, that Kelli Yarborough, a three-time consecutive NASCAR Cup champion during his career, which included four wins at the Daytona 500, has passed away at the age of 84. The news comes after NASCAR Vice President John Dodson mentioned in April that Yarborough "was not in good condition" and asked fans to remember him in their prayers. Yarborough, hailing from North Carolina, won the NASCAR title in 1976, 1977, and 1978, making him one of only two drivers in the sport's history to achieve three consecutive championships. He achieved 83 wins and finished in the top ten 319 times during his NASCAR career, which spanned from 1957 to 1988.
