The UAE Chess Federation is organizing the Federation Cup for teams from various communities and institutions in rapid chess tomorrow, Saturday, for two days, at the Dubai Chess and Culture Club's hall. A total of 112 teams from clubs, academies, institutions, and communities, representing 33 nationalities, will participate in the tournament, including 55 players with international titles and 20 grandmasters.
The tournament is part of the chess competitions taking place in the country's clubs during the holy month of Ramadan, which began with the Zayed Loyalty Chess Championship organized by the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, followed by the Sharjah Rapid and Blitz Championship, as well as the Sharjah Girls Chess and Culture Club Championship, and the Abu Dhabi Mind Sports and Chess Club Championship.
For his part, Sultan Ali Al-Taher, the head of the technical committee at the federation, confirmed that the tournament is part of the community initiatives organized by the federation to attract talents, in addition to the desire to engage all segments of society in the game, especially since such tournaments see participation from chess families.
